Croissant and coffee, the breakfast of dreams. A half-and-half chocolate bar, using leftover croissants from breakfast at Watergate Bay Hotel, paired with used coffee grounds in dark chocolate. Fully traceable bean to bar chocolate. Our food system is broken, but Chocolarder are doing their part to help fix it – one delicious bar at a time.

Rather than throwing away the leftover croissants from breakfast at the iconic Watergate Bay Hotel, Chocolarder have been collecting them throughout the summer ready to repurpose into chocolate. These regular collections have been supported by their friends at Westcountry Food Sales who are based just down the road from them, and deliver to the hotel on a daily basis anyway!

The coffee grinds are from Chocolarder’s espresso machine at the factory, they are lucky enough to drink Monmouth house espresso for their morning coffees. They take these already expressed coffee grinds and freeze them ready for processing into dark chocolate.

Chocolarder is one of a handful of bean-to-bar chocolate makers in the UK, and the only one based in Cornwall. Everything that comes out of their factory is made with only the best ingredients, sourced locally where possible, in the seaside town of Falmouth.

Since 2012 they have been committed to producing the finest chocolate, sustainably and ethically, with complete transparency and by being as responsible as possible about how they do it.

There are no artificial ingredients in their chocolate and there never will be. That’s because they understand that even the smallest choices can make the biggest difference. They source only the best natural ingredients in the most eco-conscious ways to reduce their impact on the environment. That’s what influences every single decision they make.

Chocolarder endeavour to build a business that both their employees and their customers can be proud of. That means upholding their sustainability commitments, sticking to ethical practices, and taking any steps they can to make sure that they’re looking after our planet—because it’s the only one we’ve got.

All of Chocolarder’s chocolate is packaged plastic- free and the cocoa farmers they source from are paid above fair-trade prices for their beans. Using cocoa beans grown by charity projects, they have been able to help some incredible British charities in their endeavour to save rainforests and their inhabitants as well as give back to the farmers who are helping to preserve rainforests in Peru and Sierra Leone.

Standard delivery

Every product page specifies if an item is dispatched directly by Eden Project or our selected brands.

For items dispatched directly by Eden Project UK standard delivery on all products is £4.75* and free delivery for orders over £50.

Many items dispatched directly by our brands qualify for free delivery*.

The exact shipping rates will be calculated on checkout based on your selected products and delivery address.

*UK Mainland, some exceptions may occur.

Packed seeds, not boxed (UK-only): £2.75

Unfortunately for a small number of postcodes in remote areas of mainland UK we cannot guarantee free delivery. As a charity we set our postage charges according to our courier and have to pass on any additional charges. If you are unsure if your postcode falls into one of these areas please phone our customer services: 01726 818891.

Delivery times

Most products are dispatched within 1-3 working days of receiving the order. We'll let you know by email when your order has been dispatched.

After dispatching, your order will normally reach you within 1-3 working days. It may take a little longer in busy periods.

For products dispatched directly from our suppliers, please refer to the 'Delivery & Returns' tab on each product page, where we provide the estimated delivery times.

Why we dispatch some products directly from our suppliers

To reduce the products' carbon footprint and to offer you a wider selection of products, we have a number of brands/suppliers dispatching directly to you from their warehouses.

Please see the "Delivery & Returns" tab on each product where we specify if a product is sent directly by Eden Project or from a supplier.

If you receive goods that do not match those that you ordered, please notify us within 14 days of receipt to return them. For all enquiries please call 01726 818891 or e-mail us: webshop@edenproject.com.

To be eligible for a return, items must be in its original packaging, in the same condition that you received your order, unworn or unused, with tags. This does not apply to faulty items.

Items that were delivered directly from our suppliers will be returned to them. Once they receive the item(s) and verify their condition Eden Project will process a refund.

Stock availability

If for unforeseen reasons an item in your order is unavailable, we will contact you using the details you have given us to arrange an alternative product of similar quality or price. Naturally, if you choose to cancel the order, we will give you a full refund for the unavailable item.

Packing of products

We use recycled packaging where we can, and also re-use surplus boxes from here on site whenever possible. We always take care to ensure that the packages we send reach you in perfect condition and are a delight to open!

How to return an item

You can return an item within 14 days of receipt. As some of our products are dispatched directly by our brands, please contact us before returning any item(s) so we can provide you with the exact address on where to send them back.

Unless an item is faulty, you're responsible for the postage charges to return the item.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging.

If there were any shipping charges at the time of placing an order they will not be refunded unless the item is faulty.

Made to order or personalised products are not refundable.

Free UK standard delivery on all orders* over £50 for products dispatched directly by Eden Project (*Some exceptions apply). This product is dispatched by Eden Project within 1-3 working days with next day delivery as the standard delivery service, we aim to send all orders as soon as they’re placed.
