      It is as it says!

I haven't had time due to weather to transfer compost out of old bin into this new one.

The base doesn't screw on as tight as I had thought it would from the advert, so hope no can't get in, I was pleased to see there are vents in the base for worms etc to get in to help the compost, only time will tell if it works.

      Compost bin and base

They seem good quality but have been bought as a present so can't really comment. The base was delivered separately and went to the neighbour's...

      Rodent free compost bin...so far!

Great product for me, although I thought the 'bin' screwed slightly onto the base instead of just sitting on it. I bought it to keep rats out of my allotment and so far so good. Fantastic delivery (less than 24 hrs).

Good but could be even better

I bought a 330L green compost converter with base plate. I opted for the addition of a baseplate because I was having a ‘rat problem’ with my previous composter which had four interlocking side panels which were no longer tight fitting and were therefore too welcoming for my not so little rodent ‘friend’.

When my new composter arrived I emptied the contents of the old one, which eventually revealed my rodent host who scampered off behind a nearby shed.

At the end of day one, I am happy with my new purchase, although I could recommend a design improvement if anyone from Eden Project is interested. I was disappointed that the composter didn’t 'lock' to the base plate. I’m sure that wouldn’t be too difficult to achieve with the addition of simple mechanism that fits baseplate to composter. Instead, in my determination to keep my furry friend away, I literally screwed the baseplate and the composter together by drilling holes and using short self tapping screws to seal the joint. This wasn’t too difficult to do, but could have been unnecessary if designed better in the first place.

My fear is that without this, my furry rodent friend would soon have found a way back into the new bin. They are both clever and persistent.

If anyone at Eden wants to pursue this with me further I would b happy to help.

      Composter

Seems sturdy enough but only time will tell. Base is very loose expected it to be more of a click in fit but it is actually designed for both this composter and the smaller 220L. Eden stated on advert it had a 10year guarantee but label attached to composter states 5years so sales site mis leading but wether it last 5 or 10 is at present unknown.
