The National Trust aspen larch 28mm nest box is a lovely elegantly designed nest box and will make a wonderful addition to any garden or outdoor space. With a classic nest box design, it has a green sloping edged roof, the 28mm hole size will be used by tree sparrows, blue tits, coal tits, great tits and crested tits.
The nest box can be opened at the front for cleaning after the breeding season. This is generally around October when you can be sure that no more birds are breeding inside. A clean nest box will also attract birds who want to use it as a shelter during colder winter months.
There is a shortage of natural nesting sites, which is thought to be one of the major factors behind the decline of some of our once most-common birds. By putting up nest boxes, such as this, which replicates a bird's natural nesting preferences, you can encourage them to breed near your home.
CJ Wildlife
Founded in 1987 on a farm in rural Shropshire by cousins Chris and Ben Whittles, CJ Wildlife is proud to be the market-leading manufacturer and distributor of foods, feeders, and nest boxes for garden wildlife in the UK.
Thanks to extensive research led by their wildlife experts, the range of bird food on the market in the UK has significantly increased since CJ Wildlife was founded more than 35 years ago. Today, over 80 bird species are being fed in gardens, compared to just 18 when they started their company!
