Beeble
Honey rum 50cl
10% OFF your first order when you subscribe to our newsletter
Delicate floral notes from the honey are perfectly complemented by the smooth finish and earthy sweetness from the sophisticated golden rum.
The journey of Beeble rum begins in the fair-trade sugarcane fields of Trinidad, where the sugarcane is fermented and distilled into a world-renowned Caribbean rum. After the rum lands on UK shores, it’s turned a beautiful gold when blended with Beeble’s single source honey.
Product Details
Beeble began with one hive in North Wiltshire 10 years ago. They were new to the bee-keeping world and fully committed to keeping that hive healthy. From this first colony they just about made enough honey to give some jars to friends, with a bit left over for their breakfast.
However, they soon realised it was difficult to avoid wasting the honey stuck to the frames taken from the hive. To avoid this waste, they soaked the frames into whisky. This turned out to be the first ever batch of Beeble honey whisky.
To make honey whisky their production has had to increase over the years, and so have the number of hives they have relied on for honey. As a result they are now proud to say that Beeble is responsible for the existence of one hundred and thirty hives around their home in Wiltshire. There are around sixty thousand honey bees in a single colony. That adds up to almost eight million Wiltshire bees making their honey whisky.
Their co-founder, Nicola, is also an ambassador for the global charity, 'Bees for Development', which promotes sustainable beekeeping in developing countries through sharing beekeeping skills to provide a reliable life-long source of income. This aims to help combat poverty, whilst also benefiting biodiversity.
