Make your garden a buzzing haven for pollinators with Seedball’s Bee Merry seed tin. Filled with a carefully selected mix of native wildflowers and pollinator-friendly annuals, this charming tin makes a thoughtful gift for gardeners, bee enthusiasts and eco-conscious friends.

Designed to attract solitary bees, honey bees and bumblebees, each seed ball contains approximately 30 seeds from a mix of Birdsfoot Trefoil, Foxglove, Red Clover, Viper’s Bugloss and Wild Marjoram – plants recommended as bee-friendly by the Bumblebee Conservation Trust. A sprinkling of pollinator-friendly annuals adds Chamomile, Cornflower, Corn Marigold and Night-flowering Catchfly to the mix.

Easy to grow, with no digging required. Each tin contains 20 seed balls, enough to cover approximately 1 square metre of garden bed or fill 3–5 medium-sized pots. Simply scatter the seed balls, water and let nature take over, leaving at least 10cm between each ball.

Perfect for window boxes, balcony pots, garden beds and wildlife gardens, Bee Merry makes it easy to introduce more pollinator-friendly flowers to your outdoor space. Scatter your seed balls from autumn through to the end of spring – wildflower seeds love a chilly spell!

What is a Seedball?

A ball made from seeds, clay, peat-free compost and chili powder.

Why use Seedballs?

The ball prevents the seeds from being a tasty lunch for birds and insects, thereby increasing the chances of your flowers growing. Plus they’re super easy to use, no digging and no expert knowledge needed!

What's in the tin?

There are 20 balls in each tin, and around 30 seeds per ball.

How do I use Seedballs?

Throw onto soil or compost in a garden bed or planter in spring or autumn, leaving at least 10cm between each ball. Your Seedball has everything it needs to grow and, once the ball becomes moist and the temperature is right, your seeds will germinate!

About the brand

Seedball

On a mission to help increase the abundance of British wildflowers and wildlife that depend upon them. We believe that if we can all better use whatever space we have available to us (whether a back garden, balcony, window box, little patio etc) we can together have a hugely beneficial impact on our local ecosystems. The last 50 years has been witness to huge declines in pollinators and other garden wildlife, but together we can really do something to reverse this. We want Seedball to inspire a wildlife gardening revolution while providing a very handy way of going about it! Conservation is in our heart and soul and one day we dream to fund our own Seedball wildflower reserves

Sustainability

The seed balls have been created by Conservation Scientists to make growing wildflowers from seed simpler. Seed balls are their own mini ecosystem, protecting seed from birds, ants and slugs and giving them the nutrition they need to have a head start. With Seed balls you don't have to have any gardening expertise. There is no need to propagate the seed, or even plant it! Just pop on top of soil, water and watch grow!
Seed balls are made from a unique blend of seed, clay (to protect the seed from ants, mice, birds etc.) peat free compost (to give seeds a boost) and chilli powder (an extra predator deterrent). This ancient technique of seed propagation provides all the nutrition and protection that a seed requires for its early growth – which is particularly useful for growing wildflowers, as their seeds often takes longer to germinate and grow than other garden plants.
